If you don’t stalk me on Examiner, I posted the news about Mark, and then I did a followup post to explain some nuances missed by people who read the strangely written announcement boilerplate and emerged confused.
A slightly more nuanced take on the general topic, if not specifics, appeared ten written drafts later at MMORPG.com. Gonna be my final word for awhile. My feelings are… mixed.
As soon as preorders are available for the tell all, I’ll let you know.
But I don’t just navel gaze, no sir. I’m still working on the football game. To that end!
If you are/were a Steelers fan, and if you ever wanted to ask Coach Cowher anything, my Quick Hit friends are doing a podcast with the illustrious coach as a guest. If you want to submit a question, send it to askacoach AT quickhit DOT com. Send your real name and address too - the chosen questions will get the asker’s name read out on the air, and you’ll get a thank you t-shirt. The contact information will go on a spam list over my dead body, so please send your real address.
Finally, if any of my team leads or guild leaders are reading this, and you think your various groups of players would like to take a break from elves and beta test a browser based football game, give me a buzz, please. Each “game” is 20 minutes long, maybe a half hour with the various extra bits.
Thanks!

Hmm what days/times would the testing be at?
Havn’t followed football too closesly since my Bears made their superbowl run a few years back, but I do like the game.
Unfortuntley, free time during the week is really tight anymore for me.

You should make a statement somewhere about what kinds of comments you will accept. I have no idea whey the last two comments here were deleted. Feel free to delete this one, just some feedback.

Edit: if there is a strict policy of (admittedly slightly tongue in cheek in my case..but I did enjoy that article) over the top complements being unacceptable, you ought to make it clear. Either that or just lock down posting and vet all the comments before they appear.

Yeebo:
Just as an FYI (assuming you check back), your comments weren’t deleted. See this domain is owned by Scott Jennings (aka Lum the Mad) and was moved to a new host yesterday. The DNS mapping took a few hours to propagate through the internet. Your comment was made on the old host (where it probably is still happily displayed to the people who access the site using a hard coded IP address instead of the domain name).
The hostname is now resolving to a new and different server, one where your comment was never made nor saved. Thus, the comment appears to have been deleted, but, in fact, it wasn’t.

What Jerid said. Since I passed the QH link on to my husband he and his buddies have been slavering. They’d be extremely interested in giving you a hand.

Indeed, thanks Stupid. Was wondering what happened to my comment, hopefully Sanya had time to read it, pandering as it was.

ah I miss Sanya
Enjoyed the article, course past couple years I’ve become a CCP “fanboi” of sorts, but Daoc will always be my first

Holy crap, it’s Tweety. … Y’know, way, way, way back in the day I remember reading your original rant the week or so it was posted. I barely even remember what it was about now, or what it was like, but I remember thinking ‘damn’ (rather, ‘dang’, as I was still in my teens then), ‘this girl, she knows what she’s talking about. That’s awesome, and this is funny.’ And for the longest time, I kept up with the site - even got into DAoC for a while (I still maintain I had the first and best Elven Light Eldritch on Morgan le Fay server.) because you and Lum and a bunch of my friends were going on about how great it was, and it was. And then eventually I dropped it, and by that point I’d sort of lost track of you. I thought about you from time to time because I remembered enjoying seeing your views on stuff, but never really went looking to find where you went.
And today I found a link to the site, and holy crap, it’s Tweety all over again. It is good - really, honestly good, a point of joy in my day - to see you’re in one piece and still writing about games and gaming. I might drop in fromt time to time to see what’s up, but for the most part, I just wanted to say hey from a long-time fan who had you on his mind from time to time. Keep ya head up.

Very nice article Sanya, and a lot more universal than MMOs, or games, or even software development. Count me in for that pre-order.
